This shoe is a classic style of an everyday 18th century women’s shoe. Although we may think of leather as the quality material today, leather was the marker of the rural class as it was readily available for them to process. Dyed textiles, wovens, velvet, silk shoes, were displayed by the wealthy. Each shoe is sewn with hand twisted and waxed thread with wild German boar hair as needles.
